Hi,
The circuit boards arrived a while ago,
but was full time on the mill improvements...
Back to the switch motor project itself,
everything looks good.

Si,
Do you mean I2C bus? That's the typical bus used for OLED displays.
Never have come across an OLED device with an I2S bus.

Hi,
I made a series of switch motor boxes,
each with a different style of hole for weather testing:- 1: box without any additional holes.
- 2: box with the "throw lever" switch installed.
- 3: box with 0/039" hole and 0.039" rod.
- 4: box with 0.039" rod running thru 1mm ID silicone sleeve.
- 5: box with 0.039" rod running thru pair of 1mm ID silicone o-rings.
I placed a cobalt chloride moisture and humidity detection test paper inside each box.
The boxes have clear lids so I will be able to monitor them for leaks without opening.
The boxes are positioned on the trestle with the holes facing the wind/snow:
02-17-2020: 4" snow storm last night, all boxes dry inside. 
I took a chance and placed a "medium run" order for 40 of the PCBs.

Hi all,
We just had another 10" of heavy wet snow last nite,
it will be awhile till I can get back out there.
I have been busy this winter building the electronics.
I have assembled the mcus and LED controller (signals, lights, etc.)
for all 8 of the areas (Omaha thru L.A.) planned for the complete setup.
Placed them in a beater rack, assembled from scrap in the shed.
The first also has a prototype turnout controller.
Will be doing a production run of another 10 soon.
Everything is connected from JMRI thru the mcus via Ethernet/Wi-Fi and TCP.
To review:
Everything is controlled with homebrew LCB/LCC programs, looking like:
JMRI <TCP> LCC Hub <TCP> [8 x OpenMRN based gateways] <TCP> [8 x Mcus]
JMRI has no idea where the Gateways/mcus are located.
As I build out sections of track,
the controlling hardware will be moved from the inside, to the site.
Having it all connected and running now allows me to design all the JMRI panels.
This allows me to test the complete system from the get-go.
The pic. on the left is the rack with all 8 controllers.
The pic. on the right is a 0.96" OLED display I found on Amazon,
at $2.90 each I couldn't resist!
The 1st top yellow line shows status.
The 2nd line shows state of each turnout.
The 3rd shows block occupancy.

I created a shell GUI,
to start/stop/manage all these pieces of software.
During development I have to stop/restart them many times each day,
this is a big help.

I also wrote a GUI for the laptop,
that allows me to control/monitor each of the gateways and mcus.
With this I will be able to walk around the site,
and interact with each set of hardware.
It can ping each mcu to test network connection.
It can send commands to each gateway.
It can send commands to each mcu.

Hi all,
I also asked this question in my 'Track Planning' Forum Thread.
I've been re-designing the turnout motor control board,
with knowledge I obtained from using the prototype version.
Testing turnout control,
I've realized that I need a spring/latch mechanism of some sort,
to hold a turnout firmly in its set position.
I'm using LGB G-scale turnouts,
the manual spring mechanism just isn't firm enough to hold it in position,
once I turn off servo power after the movement.
Has anyone seen a product or design for such a mechanism,
that they would recommend?
