"you can't please everyone...so you gotta please yourself"
Better yet:
"Pleasing everybody is impossible, but to piss everybody off is a piece of cake"

I'm pretty good at pissing people off.
I also once had a lazy Susan. Fortunately I didn't marry her.
I stuck it out for the crazy one. I pissed them both off.
I like your turntable very much Michael.
I also like the locking system.
Keep on keeping' on.

I'll have to take some more photos, but...
Where the three engine tracks are at the far side of the turntable, there is a faux engine house.
Inside will be the necessary cables for recharging batteries.
On the right the dual gauge trackage continues with a very short run-around track,
with the 42" gauge line going all the way to the end.

Michael,
Where is your layout situated?
Is this some sort of veranda, with a roof for rain protection?
I like the half open situation, half in the garden,
with plants, dog and childrens things in the background.
Looks much better that many layouts,
in a dark basement or an unbearably hot attic.
... BTW, the trackwork is a pleasure to view also.

I have a detached garage and off the back is a covered patio,
with a man door to the garage.
It's about 8 x 20 feet which gives enough room to work with.
The layout is a 'U' shaped point-to-point.
Being outside way in the back I can make as much mess as I want to,
without the wife complaining.
