Hello all!
I would like to incorporate a double reverse loop section on my layout,
but am unsure if it can be done from a wiring point of view.
As you can see from my crudely drawn diagram,
a train could approach on the main line at the top, from either direction,
go onto the passing siding,
then enter the reverse loop, and go back the way it came.
A single reverse loop is simple enough,
especially with DCC, which I am using.
My questions are as follows:
Can this even be done?
If so, would I need one reversing module or two?
Where would gaps and reversing module(s) go?
Many thanks in advance for any help or advice!

You should be able to use one auto reverse unit,
if you put the insulated rail joints, between the 'Y' turnouts and the 'main line' turnouts.

My advice is to model electric traction,
the live side of current being the overhead & the return path being both rails,
which then immediately vaporizes all need for rail gaps.

I assist Nathans idea.
Gaps should be placed at these places:

Many thanks to Nathan and Corv8 !
I will experiment with both ideas and see how they work.
And to Kitbash... I thought not only about traction, but radio-control too.
Both would make this SO much easier!
Also - sorry, I can’t get my picture round the right way.
