I occasionally have to turn/true parts that are too soft for normal turning tools to work,
so I mount a Dremel and sanding drum to the lathe cross-slide.
It gets kind of clunky with a full size Dremel on a mini lathe.
I took the innards from a battery powered Dremel and made a mount for the cross-slide.
At first I was going to make it from aluminum but then I got a 3D-printer... hmm.
The mount fits and works nicely!

Similar to what I do with a full size lathe,
and an hand held angle grinder.
Exactly what I was told NEVER to do,
when I learned the trade 45 years ago.

Yep, a motor and chuck would work well.
But I had three of the cordless tools around,
and figured one of them was destined for this.
Now it looks like the low-end tools are mostly gone.
The lowest cost one (for pet nail trimming) is about $30,
but also has rechargeable batteries.

Harbor Freight one, has low torque,
so it may not work as well.
But you can get a cordless drill,
that is cheap and has bad batteries,
and take it apart to do this.
