Hi Chuck Walters here, from Silverdale, Washington.
I am in the middle of a large "clean out the garage project",
after a recent move form Kirkland, Washington.
Been modeling HO since 1954,
when my Dad helped me order a bunch of equipment,
from a Marklin catalogue in Ethiopia.
No model shop,
just a catalogue in a tiny import shop.
More later.

Chuck,
I'm way south of you, in the general Centralia area.
There are a lot of modelers in the Bremerton area.
This is a great Forum with some world-class model work, and a big departure,
from the usual "Hey, check out my latest Tyco conversion" Threads,
you are forced to endure on other model train sites.
Welcome, and I speak for all when I say,
I'm looking forward to seeing shots of what you've done !

Hi Si.
I think I already answered this,
but just in case, I will answer it again.
Yes, I still have all of my original Marklin gear,
including track, small wood box it came in,
and original bill of sale from the Marklin factory.

Hi Chuck.
Nice to see another neighbor.
I am in Shelton modeling in HO, On30 and 3/4" scale live steam.
Yeah, I don't like boredom.

Good to hear from you Reg.
Our son lives in Shelton.
I had a couple of procedures recently and can't travel yet.
Hopefully I can in the not too distant future.
Sounds like you are a rubber gauger.
What era do you model and what is your focus ?
I model the mid '50s and do logging, mining and military.
I do mostly HOn30, but also std. gauge, and HOn3.
We moved to Silverdale 3 years ago and I don't have a layout yet.
Space in our new home is a problem.
But as soon as I get all the boxes (1500 books) out of the office/train room,
I will do an around the room HO/HOn30 dual gauge layout, with some HOn3.
I will connect to an upper level with cog
I have HO, HOn3 and HOn30 cog equipment.

I am starting new again,
as I haven't been able to get on for months.
This is actually about my 7th post.
Si. helped me get on the site again.
As I said earlier I have been modeling in HO since 1954,
with a gift of Marklin equipment from my Dad,
while we were on foreign assignment in Ethiopia.
He helped me build my first layout in the basement of our home,
which was only accessible by trapdoor.
Once that flooded, we moved it upstairs to a bedroom.
I model in HO, HOn3 and HOn30.
I do post World War 2 in military, mining and logging.
We moved 4 years ago to Silverdale, Washington,
on the Kitsap, Washington penninsula, near Bremerton.
Right after we moved I had 2 serious heart operation,
and am still recovering from those.
I don't have a current layout,
but am planning an around the wall HO/HOn30 layout,
with a lift-out or swing up-down for 1 doorway.
There are no hobby shops nearby,
so look forward to interracting with you folks on Freerails.
